  • what your business is
  • how do you plan to make it happen (how will you sell your service/product and who will buy it and why)

Most people associate this document with something that needs days or maybe even weeks of research , which must then be immaculately presented, explaining in all possible detail how you plan to organise and manage each part of your company, including ambitious assumptions. You need to tailor your business plan to the person/company you’re showing it to. The below resources show you different ways of writing your business plan according to who you will show it to.

The general, key things a business plan must include:

  • Short explanation of what your business is
  • The problem your business is solving
  • Define who your customer base (target market) is and how big it is
  • Who your competitors are and why you are better than them
  • Financial information, your business model (how much will you charge for your product/service and where will you use money from in order to make it)
  • How you will sell your product/service (distribution plan)
  • How will you market your business (marketing plan)
  • The team you will run the business with
